Different Ways to Laugh

Today I’m going to show you two interesting and different videos.

The first video it’s from Jackass the T.V series and it’s basically one of the best pranks that I have ever enjoyed. The prank it’s about a terrorist guy that believes that he is doing the prank to a taxi driver, but what the terrorist don’t know is that the prank it’s really for him.

It’s hilarious when you see the prank going after him and how the expressions on his face changes when he realizes that is in danger ( a fake danger off course).

Personally I think that these guys are awesome, their pranks are in the border of stupidity and when you laugh about the situations or the pain that they suffer you don’t feel guilty because they enjoy doing their jobs.

The second video it’s a parody of a Katie Perry song done by a girl that changes the lyrics becoming one of the newest memes on the internet the “overly attached girlfriend”.

The lyrics are changed in a way that you think that she is a psycho girlfriend that will be always with you, I every second of your life, in every breath you take and will be in every situation of your life like going to the bathroom or doing a test, and off course she will be jealous off everything, and just looking her psycho eyes you don’t want to get her mad…

These two videos show us that there are different ways to make you laugh and that’s why I like them.

London Web Quest

Last week we did a different type of activity, a web quest; the general idea was to organize a travel to London with all our classmates and to make an activity calendar for all the week.
I think this was a very interesting idea, because you could travel to London via web and discover places to visit that you could really visit some time in your life.
Personally it was a really good discovering because I didn’t knew that London had to many amazing places, the typical place that you want to visit is Stonehenge but now I know that it’s a lot  of museums and amazing buildings to visit there, in fact now London is one of my travel objectives in my life.
In my opinion the best part of the activity was to choose places to go, with this I really changed my opinion about London, I thought that it was a boring place.
The boring and frustrating part of the activity was to search for the prices of the travel points, boring because it was a really tedious and frustrating because some places were really expensive like Stonehenge.
It is really interesting to do a web quest before you go anywhere but in my opinion it’s effectively is very questionable; you don’t really know a place until you see it with your eyes.

Literally a Gladiator

I have a very variable taste when it’s about movies. Watching movies is one of the things that I really, really like and that is the reason I have watched a lot of films.

One of my favorites movies is Gladiator from 2000 and directed by Ridley Scott. It mixes a lot of action, betrayal, vengeance and redemption and that’s why I like it.

The film it’s about the story of the roman general Maximo Decimo Meridio (Russell Crowe) and how he losses everything because of the ambition of the emperors son.

Maximo was a good friend of the emperor Marco Aurelio; in fact he loved him like a son and was proud of him. The emperor’s son was very jealous about this relationship and betrayed his father by killing him and taking control of the Roman Empire, in the process he took everything from Maximo (his wife, son and liberty) and tried to kill him. Maximo escaped from the death, but he was disoriented because of the loss of his family and ended as a slave in Africa. Somehow he managed to get bought by a gladiator trainer, a lot of things happen to him in his training; he got the experience, skill and focus to keep alive.
He got famous in the arena for his kills and finally got a chance to take vengeance and expose to the people of Rome the kind of man that was their traitor emperor.

Finally he completed his focus, dying in the process, and being reunited with his loved family.

I liked this film for the storyline and for the way the actors developed their characters. The soundtrack of the movie was very good too, I loved the way it was mixed with the scenes, it was like you were in the coliseum.

The movie was so good that it won five Oscar prizes including best movie and best actor (Russell Crowe) and best sound.

One of the things that this movie taught me was no matter what it takes; somehow you will always manage to be with your loved ones.

Music Time

I think my music likes depends on the situation I’m having in my life, so i don’t really have a favorite band or kind of music, but one band I‘ve really liked among the time is Maroon 5. I think their music is adaptable for almost every situation, if you are sad or if you want a cheerful song you can listen to them.
I really like their songs, but if I had to choose one it would be “Moves like Jagger”, a song that they play with Cristina Aguilera. I think it’s a very good and cheerful song and the music mix with the lyrics very well creating a really moved one.

In a few weeks they’re going to release a new album, I hope it would be as good as the old ones. They’re releasing new singles too, like the song “Payphone” that is really moved and good too.
In July 31st they are coming again to perform a concert in Santiago. I’m very excited about that because it will be the first Maroon 5 concert that I’m going. I hope it will be as good as their music.

Good Times Memories

Last summer I had a whole vacation week in Papudo with all my family… My parents, my brother and my grandparents, even my girlfriend was there!
It was an amazing week and the house had a wonderful view. The house was in the border of the beach and it was in a private place, so no one can disturb you, the place even had a private beach and a pool, it was amazing.

The most beautiful thing was to wake up every morning, open the window, take a deep breath of fresh air and look at the open sea!

I took it when we were about to have lunch… the sun reflection in the water looks great, and the waves of the sea are very pretty, in the morning you could see the sailing boats going to open sea and in the evening returning.

The thing that I love of this picture is that it was a really great moment with my family, being all together enjoying this amazing view all day was just great.

I think that sometimes you don’t like the picture by itself, but because of the meaning that it carries, moments make us happy and we print them forever in pictures. J

This is one of my good times memories.

Technology These Days

I think technology helps a lot in these days in very useful ways, for example, you can contact really fast with people that isn’t around, you can search for information really quick and if you need to send information to someone you can do it in that exact moment.

Things moves faster these days, and you have to catch up if you don’t want to lose any bit of information, that’s the main reason because a have an iPhone. I bought it about one year ago and it has been very helpful in a lot of situations and it had solved me a lot of problems in a moment.

I can connect with people everytime, via mail, chat or just calling them, I have a lot of information storage in my iPhone that could be helpful some times and I even have class texts that I can see whenever I want. It helps a lot if you are bored too; it has a lot of games and apps that you can check.

The other piece of technology that I really, really like is my PlayStation 3. I bought it 3 years ago and it has been very cool. It brings you another exit way from your reality; you can play a lot kind of games and hang out with your friends with it. If you put your PS3 in English it’s a way to learn too; because you learn and read English in a real and interactive situation.

The interesting thing about technology these days is that it brings you another platform to interact with people and the world. If you mix this new way of interaction with the old ones it could be a very powerful tool but in my opinion it doesn’t supports by itself because is too impersonal.

If you use it the right way it can be a part of you too!

A Fun way to learn

The BBC learning English website is a very helpful tool to learn or practice your spoken and written English. It has a lot of features that can do the learning very easy and fun. The articles, the quizzes, the stories and the games help you to learn very fast.

I have always thought that the passive English learning methods are the best for the quick and deep learning of the language. Things like watching a movie without Spanish subtitles or if you prefer without them, playing games in English where the understanding is necessary to keep advancing in the game, reading a book or just trying to make a conversation  in English are the best tools to learn.

On the other side, the grammar and rules are very important too, and that’s the reason because the website is very helpful, because it has the two methods mixed up.
One of the more important things in the learning process is the motivation, and the website accomplishes this requirement in a very good way.
